NMBU is leading the PheNo consortium, building on its comprehensive expertise in field phenotyping, scaling research to high-precision indoor phenotyping, and advanced seed sorting and phenotyping of crop species.

What we do:

PheNo-NMBU Team together with SKP-NMBU provide in depth expertise on Plant Phenotyping. The facilities both at Åsbakken and Vollebekk, together with the equipment allow the emphasis regarding seed phenotyping of crop plants, field phenotyping and controlled environment plant phenotyping of small to medium size plants.

Together with our partners, NMBU will provide workshops, training programs, and courses, while also participating in national and international conferences to remain at the forefront of the field and share our findings.

Why us?

Under the leadership of Professor Morten Lillemo, NMBU brings a strong track record in crop breeding and genetics, with a particular focus on wheat, barley, and oat. The team has extensive experience collaborating with seed companies and maintains a well-established national and international network.

Professor Odd Arne Rognli brings extensive expertise in population genetics and the improvement of forage grasses, with a strong focus on advancing sustainability in agriculture. Within PheNo, he will play a key role, particularly in the areas of Training and Education.

Our highly skilled staff are here to support the design and execution of your plant phenotyping experiments across a range of species. You can conduct experiments under controlled conditions, in open fields, or in tunnels. We also have an experienced data scientist who manages and analyses your data to ensure high-quality results.

To be announced:
